Are you giving importance to what is important?
Time to rethink about what we eat
Yet another weekend… Time to make plans... Actually we
invest entire weekday to come up with the best plan for weekends… And the most
important part of the plan is where to go what to EAT – Is there a new
restaurant to explore?- Where can I get the best non veg?-Ever shown so much
Enthusiasm towards healthy eating ( Except a few)
Most of us know it very well that food industry is
humongous- from packaged foods to frozen ones-we know, it just fills our tummy
and it is not healthy… Sadly in India some of the restaurants and street foods
are not as healthy as they look... We never examine the ‘behind the scenes’ that
happens within their kitchen.
Could you count the number of people in your family facing
any major health issue –heart issue, diabetes, autoimmune diseases, cancer, Alzheimer's,
cognitive dysfunction, multiple sclerosis, osteoporosis etc. Now count the
amount they spend on treating it. Basically the medical industry is in profit
because of the unhealthy habits of certain entities in food industry.
Recent news reported a customer got an unwanted
surprise at a KFC store on the Northern Rivers. Alongside the secret herbs and spices, she
claimed her dinner from the Casino outlet was also smothered in something else

However that is still one of the hit places
among the youth.
Ever thought a healthy lifestyle and a change
in diet could cure you from certain diseases and help in keeping the ones you
already have under control? You might have – but you are mentally not prepared
to eat ‘not so tasty’ food as you are habituated to scrumptious food items. This
is the battle you have to fight. Invest today and enjoy tomorrow. Don’t jeopardize
your future in enjoying the present.
Read a book named “The China Study”-by Dr.
Campbell, some of facts (because it is proved through experiment conducted over
10 years) were astonishing. Would like to share a few of them with you to know
your thoughts on the same.
- A diet with as low animal protein intake as possible will greatly reduce your risk for all kinds of cancer, heart disease, auto-immune disease, diabetes, osteoporosis, obesity, and many other “diseases of affluence”.
- Sunlight is responsible for, among other things, converting calcium into usable food for the bones and body. So if you're in-taking plenty of calcium through plants, but aren't getting sunlight, then you aren't getting the full benefits from the calcium.
- Eating a Whole Foods, Plant Based diet is important because it is rich in fiber, iron, good fats, carbohydrates, minerals, and micro-nutrients that can't be replicated in a lab.
- Good Carbohydrates (from fruits and vegetables) is responsible to decrease blood cholesterol which is linked to an exponential reduction the above mentioned ailments.
- Low protein diets have the ability to decrease enzyme activity by 76%. Enzymes enable carcinogens (cancer-causing agents) to convert normal cells into cancerous cells. Even if carcinogens are present in the body, they(Low animal protein diet) are less likely to infect the body’s cells because there is around 76% less enzyme activity on low protein diets.
To
refrain from boring you I have not included the experiments which could change
the way you see food. Refer “The China Study” to find out the experiments
conducted behind these conclusions and many other astonishing facts.
PS : Bill Clinton, former President, even cited the
book in explaining how he lost 24 pounds by converting to a
plant-based diet in hopes of improving his heart health. The
president gave up dairy, switching to almond milk, and says he lives primarily
on beans and other legumes, vegetables and fruit, although he will, on rare
occasions, eat fish.
The
choice is yours...
